Note from the Editor
Jeanne Ulrich, W7CEO
Emergency communications is a compelling topic to me, not only because I am an Amateur Radio operator but because I believe that staying informed about emergency or disaster situations can help save lives.
A native of Southern California, I currently reside in the Pacific Northwest. I hold a General license, and I am interested in emergency communications.
Member: Federal Way Amateur Radio Club and Lake Washington Ham Club
ARRL, FEMA, and NOLS certificate courses completed:
- ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications
- ARRL Public Service and Emergency Communications Management for Radio Amateurs
- ARRL PR-101; basic course for PIOs
- FEMA Professional Development Series
- NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute Outdoor School
My career background includes financial services, marketing, and teaching. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a Master of Science degree in Information Design and Technology. Fun fact, the subject of my master’s thesis was Amateur Radio Emergency Communications.
